Being able to pray in peace with my fellow Muslim family. I try to deeply focus on my prayers as much as i can, last few years I ve been seeing my lack of concentration in prayer, i tried to focus on that, many times less people in taraweeh is better for me, because i can focus instead of trying to meet people. So i even went to absolutely small masasjid as well.

Dar Al Hijrah Islamic Center (VA)

The masjid added a 2nd location for taraweeh using temporary space in a local church. At this location there were no long “talks” after esha and especially no time “wasted” on fundraising!!! (the hand raising fiasco is a huge irritation for me). We also had young imaams from the community leading the prayer. To be able to just focus on your prayer, without interruption / distraction, was an amazing experience and the best Ramadan yet.

The main masjid does the usual 27th fundraiser and the satellite does not?

The main masjid had the 27th fundraiser with imaam Siraj Wahhaj leading. In addition to this, there was fundraising on two nights each week, with outside organizations soliciting for their various causes. At the satellite, pledge cards were only handed out after esha on the 27th.

What if someone is grateful for it and was wondering if others were too in a sort of dog whistle kinda way

My local Masjid has recruited a paid Anti-Semitic fundraiser to whip up the faithful into a donation giving frenzy

Quran Khatam 2023 April 19

Our Taraweeh and Wajib prayers will be held and delayed until the trustees get their pledges in hand

Our Masjids need better funding solutions

This is the business of religion

Salam alaikum,

May I ask how the paid recruiter is anti-Semitic? I am curious

Don’t expect anything. I get a lot from people with Muslim sounding names making anything and everything about anti-semitism in the Muslim community. Prompt: what are you grateful for? This is what we get.

For the record Masajid should raise money and people should be generous in giving to institutions in their local community, especially for prayer and community spaces that masajid represent.
