I'd like to make a suggestion that you create a google sheet or notion database or something that you add those details to, it'd make it easy to update and add info to without having to write a new article for each charity you get new info about.
Ahmed, could you recommend or list orgs for Turkiye and Syria zakat donations, based on overhead expenses? Syrian Front is making a big push here in southern California, but I am unsure about them based on sketchy connections to the MI6-backed "White Helmets".
Without commenting on the political stuff, the closest thing is the UNHCR zakat fund for displaced refugees. It’s not Muslim run, but claims to follow strict guidelines and is a 100% hand to hand cash distribution. You would pick Syria. I hope to write about it in more detail before the month is out Insha Allah, including reservations.
I was specifically told by the president of Pure Hands (Yemen) that their zakat overhead was quite low, less than 15% if I recall correctly. Just fyi, maybe something to verify if you have time in the future inshaAllah.
I already did it for IMRC and Zakat foundation elsewhere. Some of the orgs are not international or zakat focused, or neither, so they are outside the scope of this kind of review.

Jazak Allah khayran
Good idea
JazakAllah Khair for your articles. My friend recommended Global Deaf Muslim Federation for zakat. Please research this organization. Thank you!
No reason to since there is no decent zakat policy and no accounting for Zakat.
Would you be able to calculate GDMF's overhead? I was thinking about giving sadaqah to GDMF.
Please look into NCCM info@nccm.ca
Activist groups are requesting Zakaat while inflation and poverty ravage the working class
Zakaat should be for primary needs : food , shelter and security
Political activists must self fund

A big JazakAllah Khairun for your efforts.

They only have a 990 from 2019 and domestic overhead was a bit under that, but there would be overhead in Yemen as well we don’t know about.
